Inside Tourette Syndrome - Revised (film):

The documentary was produced by a person with Tourette syndrome and it includes five adults with TS.

This film, originally released in 2005 and recently revised (2022), is unique. Most documentaries about TS feature children and their parents. These usually provide a somewhat light twist on the disorder. In contrast, Inside Tourette Syndrome presents an in-depth, serious adult look into TS. It does not shy away from the most troubling aspects of the syndrome. However, it also explains that most people with Tourette's end up doing quite well in life.

The film attempts to let the viewer know “how it feels” to experience tics, (and in many cases) obsessions, compulsions, and intrusive thoughts. Individual Tourette syndrome cases vary greatly in degree and symptomology. Although very common in TS cases, some people with Tourette syndrome do not experience OCD-like symptoms.

The movie also presents a look into the history of the disorder, revealing the roots of many misconceptions that exist today about Tourette's.

Tourette Syndrome, The Unwelcome Companion is written by a person with Tourette syndrome. It attempts to let the reader know “how it may feel” to experience the symptoms of TS. The book is concise yet it imparts a deep inside view of the disorder.

Some of the included material is from the author’s earlier publication Beyond the Unwelcome Companion. This information has been revised and updated and new material has been added.

The rarely discussed, often most troubling aspects of Tourette syndrome are addressed in detail. The book also reinforces the reality that people with Tourette syndrome are incredibly strong individuals.

For those desiring to know how it may feel to an individual experiencing tics and other symptoms of TS, this book is a "must read."
